Certified Payroll Specialist

Hourly rate: $20-$25/hour

Description

Local construction company is looking for a Certified Payroll Specialist to join their team! Summary: Responsible for performing activities related to certified payroll. Reports to the Controller and is the senior level in the certified payroll classification series.

 

Duties include:

  • Create & submit certified payroll reports, error free
  • Ensuring compliance with weekly certified payroll reporting requirements, union labor agreements & federal, state & local regulations
  • Check & audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards
  • Maintain & organize payroll records in compliance with retention policies
  • Analyze & recommend changes to departmental processes & procedures to improve accuracy & efficiency
  • Prepares correspondence, reports & specialized documents related to payroll
  • Proofreads documents & reports for accuracy, completeness & compliance
  • Enters, edits, updates & retrieves data from reports or spreadsheets
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in certified payroll or an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Well understanding of certified payroll, payroll & accounting principals
  • Proficient with MS Excel & Word
