Buyer and Analyst (Temp)

San Luis Obispo

Hourly rate: $21-$25/hour

Description

Local high tech manufacturing company is looking for a temporary Buyer & Analyst! This is a temporary position expected to last 4-8 months.

 

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Manager of Materials, the Buyer/Planner is responsible for obtaining materials, components, and equipment for the company.

 

Some duties include:

  • Gather quotations, examine bids, & make awards for goods/merchandise
  • Determines material requirements from engineering & production schedules, & maintains inventory
  • Plans, schedules, & monitors the movement of materials
  • Evaluates vender reliability, develops new supply sources where suppliers are inadequate
  • Monitors cost, schedule, & scope of assigned subcontracts
  • Develops specifications for new contract Orders
  • Coordinates & resolves issues with A/P
  • Coordinates with engineering on specifications & Engineering Change Orders
  • Coordinates with Warehouse on receiving issues as well as rework items
  • Analyze buy patterns & recommend safety levels to meet company inventory objectives
  • Expedite/de-expedite material as needed to meet production schedule & inventory objectives
  • Consolidate category spend to ensure discount pricing
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 years’ experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • MRP experience desired, QAD a plus
  • Knowledge of electronic components a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office
