Temp HR Assistant

San Luis Obispo

Hourly rate: $16-$18/hour DOE

Description

Full-time temp needed to support HR department for approximately 5 months. Supports Human Resources Group on projects, functions, and activities.

 

Job Duties

  • Posts jobs and schedules interviews
  • Prepares or maintains employment records related to events such as hiring, separations, leaves, transfers, or promotions
  • Schedules new employee orientations. Coordinates employee hiring and orientation programs
  • Filing
  • Submits background checks
  • Maintains and updates HR documents, such as employee handbooks or directories, manuals, and forms
  • Compiles and prepares reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities
  • Researches and gathers staffing/employment data for reporting purposes as needed
  • Coordinates and processes personnel actions including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, changes in positions, merit processing, employee separations, and benefits.
  • Helps organize employee activities and events
  • Performs other related human resource duties as required
  • Provides administrative HR support to employees and managers

 

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year general experience in Human Resources
  • Must have at least 2 years experience as an Administrative Assistant
  • Excellent communication, engagement, and diplomacy skills in dealing with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Good written communications
  • Organized and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
