Street Maintenance (Temp)

Hourly rate: $17-$18/hour

Description

Great 6 month job opportunity! Local organization is looking for temporary Street Maintenance employees. This is a full-time, temporary position. Hours are M-F, 7am - 3:30pm. A clean DMV report and a full background check will be required.

 

Duties to include:

  • Service and maintain city streets
  • Service and maintain storm drains
  • Assist other employees with their tasks as necessary
  • Interacting with the public

 

Requirements:

Knowledge of: Maintenance principles, practices, tools and materials for maintaining and repairing assigned systems and facilities; effective basic record keeping; safe work methods; the operation and minor maintenance of a variety of hand and power tools, vehicles and power equipment; systems of lighting controls, plumbing repair and installation; safety equipment and practices related to the work, including the handling of hazardous chemicals; basic mathematics.

 

Ability to: Perform semi-skilled construction, modification, maintenance and repair work on assigned systems, facilities and equipment; operate a variety of tools, light equipment and vehicles; perform heavy labor; understand and follow oral or written directions; establish effective working relationships; troubleshoot maintenance problems; determine materials and supplies required for repair; skillfully and safely use tools and equipment related to the work; read and interpret construction drawings and specifications when applicable; maintain accurate logs and basic written records of work performed.
