Controller (Temp-to-hire)

Arroyo Grande

Hourly rate: $70k-$80k per year

Description

Local company is looking for an experienced Controller to join their team! This is a temp-to-hire opportunity and would include 401(K) and health benefits once hired by client company.

 

All aspects of Accounting, Compliance & Analysis including:

  • Journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
  • Job cost reporting, and Work-In-Progress reporting
  • Work directly with Project Managers and Foreman to ensure company deadlines are met for financial reports
  • Development of operational procedures and documentation of data flow
  • Supervise, train and mentor accounting personnel
  • Assist in internal and external audits
  • Prepare 571L business property tax returns
  • Prepare W-2’s, 1099’s, ACA, independent contractor reporting and quarterly payroll reporting
  • Prepare monthly Union reports
  • Evaluate and train on new regulations and laws as they affect operations
  • Manage regulatory files including permits, certificates, licenses and registrations
  • Analyze complex business problems and costs in support of operations
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of federal and state policies, regulations, accounting procedures, payroll software and recordkeeping
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency in Excel and Word
