HR/Payroll Coordinator

San Luis Obispo

Hourly rate: $20/hour

Description

A local medical office is looking for a HR/Payroll Coordinator to join their team. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday.

 

Duties:

  • Recruitment/coordination of selection/hiring of new employees
  • Orientation of new employees, including preparation and distribution of New Employee Packets
  • Maintenance of all employee records, including any appropriate filing
  • Maintenance of all staff training records
  • Implementation of Safety Program, including investigation and reporting of any worker’s compensation claims
  • Implementation of benefits programs, including 401K, Health Care and life insurance. Assist with research and selection of benefit programs as requested by Director of Operations.
  • Handle any employee relations issues, including investigation, counselling and action plan for resolution
  • Handle terminations, whether voluntary or involuntary
  • Work with third-party payroll provider to ensure correct input of payroll data, including vacation accruals and tracking
  • Work with third-party 401K provider to ensure correct deductions and payments
  • Maintenance and updating of Employee Handbook
  • Maintenance of Illness and Injury Prevention Program
  • Respond to any EDD claims; attend hearings as appropriate
  • Prepare and submit any required benefit, payroll or HR related reports or forms
  • Use Quickbooks to prepare weekly Accounts Payables
  • Assist Director of Operations with administrative projects as requested

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of CA laws and requirements as related to Human Resources and Payroll/Wage & Hour
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Sense of urgency
  • Understanding and acceptance of Confidentiality principles and expectations
