Network Service Technician

Description

Well established and thriving IT company is hiring for a full-time Network Service Technician position with great growth potential and full benefits!

 

The Network Support Technician will be the front line contact for IT support to maintain LANs, WANs, data centers, and desktops for business clients across SLO and Santa Barbara Counties.

 

In this challenging role, the person will:

  • Accurately document communications and resolutions of service calls
  • Manage ordering, shipping, and receiving technical materials
  • Monitor management systems in the Network Operations Center
  • Strategize and execute installation of system software
  • Serve and engage customers, and act as a trusted IT advisor
  • Manage customer and vendor relationships

 

Solid background in the following:

  • Windows Server 2008R2/2012, SBS 2008/2011, Exchange 2010/2013, AD, SQL, & Office Applications
  • VMWare VSphere/ESXi
  • Remote Desktop Services, thin clients
  • Routers (Cisco) T-1
  • VPN technologies/protocols
  • 802.11n internal & external w/ WPA2
  • Firewall appliances (SonicWALL, Netscreen, WatchGuard, Sophos UTM)
  • Managed switches
  • VLANs
  • Print servers, printers and MFPs
  • Backup systems (Acronis, Dell AppAssure, cloud backup solutions)
  • Basic wiring – Termination & testing of CAT5
  • Smartphones (iPhone, Android, Windows Phone)
  • HP servers and workstations
  • DHCP and DNS troubleshooting
  • Hardware troubleshooting
  • Cloud services management
  • Two years or more of IT experience
  • Required Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft MTA Networking, MCSA/MCITP MCTS Win 7 8 or 10, SonicWall SA, CCNET/CCNA, MCTS: Server 2008R2 or 2012R2, or the ability to obtain certifications within 6 months
