Chef Manager

Hourly Rate: $18/hr
Location: San Luis Obispo

Description

A local non-profit organization is looking for some short or long term staff!

Closing shift - 11am to 8pm, including weekends.

Duties include:

  • Prepares daily production records for each meal
  • Oversees ordering and scheduling of food preparation
  • Checks the inventory of food products taken at the close of business each month
  • Advises Contract Manager on monetary limitations and inventory shortages
  • Supervises, assigns and reviews work in progress of all food service personnel
  • Oversees meals are prepared according to guidelines, planned menu and production schedule
  • Ensures Cooks are following recipes
  • Ensures proper temperatures are reached during cooking, serving and cooling of all foods
  • Ensures that mainline is serving correct portions
  • Orients new employees on working arrangements, procedures and policies
  • Conducts and arranges for training of food service personnel
  • Recommends procurement of new equipment or replacement of existing equipment
  • Verifies daily cash receipts of all moneys and cash control guidelines
  • Maintain safe work environment and HACCP Program
  • Assist in planning and scheduling dining hall activities, special occasions and events
  • Monitors the identification of patrons and headcount control
  • Annually assists Contract Manager in completing employee performance evaluations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous Chef management experience
  • Ability to train and work with disabled persons
  • Knowledge of food sanitation requirements and health code standards
  • Must have a food handler certificate
  • Must be able to stand during entire shift and lift 40lbs
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
